A Healing Sound Bath for Bumpsuit: Honoring Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month
Every year, October brings with it Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, a time to acknowledge the experiences of mothers who have faced the heart-wrenching reality of pregnancy and infant loss. It's a month of solemn reflection and remembrance, a period in which the pain and healing journey of these mothers are honored. On October 15, a remarkable event took place to mark this significant month. Sponsored by Bumpsuit, a company dedicated to honoring and supporting mothers who have experienced pregnancy and infant loss, the event was hosted by Libby June Weintraub, an author with a unique perspective on loss and healing, and held at The Nest Hollywood. It was a day to pay tribute to the experiences of mothers who have faced pregnancy and infant loss. We at Altha, a certified sound healing company, were honored to be part of it. In this unique collaboration, attendees were treated to an unforgettable in-person retreat that facilitated deep healing and connection to one's inner self. While the live experience was limited to 20 women, the offerings from this healing journey were generously shared in the days following for those who couldn't attend.
Why Choose a Sound Bath to Commemorate the Month?
A key element of this remarkable event was the inclusion of a profound Sound Bath Healing Activation. Letizia, our own Chief Healing Officer with Altha, guided the participants through this transformative soundscape, immersing them in the soothing and rejuvenating vibrations of sound. A sound bath was the natural choice for commemorating Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, as sound healing has the power to facilitate emotional release, healing, and deep connection. It offered a unique opportunity for attendees to honor their experiences and find solace through the gentle embrace of sound.
The Journey of Healing and Connection
The day was filled with a variety of healing practices. Reiki activations led by Kate, herbal tinctures for transmuting the pain of pregnancy and infant loss, guided by Elizabeth, and somatic movement practices led by Caitlin offered a holistic approach to healing and self-discovery. The event included a journey into the heart with writing activations, poetry readings, prompts, and writing sessions guided by Libby, the author of "She Was Born, Words on Loss and Liberation." This segment allowed participants to express their feelings and experiences through the power of words. The retreat culminated with a "Closing Circle" led by Libby and Nicole. Here, participants shared parting words and insights on how to continue their expansion and healing journey. Gift bags were distributed, marking a beautiful conclusion to this day of healing and connection.
